Day 7: I have a new friend!

Soira – a tall, somewhat meaty high elf cleric, sat down next to me in Leth Nurae.  Beautiful city, I tell you.  The Nature is sooo well intertwined with it.  The only thing I took a slight annoyance with were the wisps serving the Queen.  Granted, they may not be real wisps, but still, the wisps and treants are to serve nature, NOT the high elves whims.  On the other hand, if the wisps were just extensions of the Queen’s psyche, then ..well, she’s a very powerful person.

Soira regaled me with stories of the Qa Riverbank.  She explained there were rat like creatures rough housing the natives of a land I’ve never been too.  Diary, you may know what I’m thinking.  I must help these people.  Not necessarily because of the people being attacked, but because these rat creatures are destroying the land.  I know, I know… the land isn’t part of my own home, but it’s still part of my world.  The Mother must be protected.

I thanked Soira for talking with me, and in return, she…wanted to read you.  She said she doesn’t trust people, and believes she can find out who I am by reading unprotected thoughts.

I’ll uh.. see you later, Diary.  I’ll be back when I’ve finished dealing with the rats.

Day 6: The Elements

The elements turned against me. So I killed them.

…let me elaborate before you pick your diety and begin praying for the end times.

I was hanging around Amberglow outpost, collecting spirit wisps for someone to help cleanse the Shrines. Seems they’ve been experiencing a bit of a poltergeist problem. Some things just don’t know when to move on. So I’m collecting wisps, and take them back to the fox that requested the help. The Shrines are cleansed, for now. It’s time for a drink, right?

Wrong.

Another Raki approached me, and mentioned my totem; turns out she knew about my tendency towards nature. After exchanging pleasantries, Sleeka asked if I’d be interested helping her and two other friends with a problem. The Raki had lost control of a special place. Minions of each of the elements were attacking randomly, and had holed up inside. This I couldn’t have, because we all depend on the elements for survival, ya know?

We headed there almost immediately (I had to pee first), and along we went. The shrine was a beautiful place. Purple colored trees, water flowing, small meditation gardens, such a serene place had turned to a war zone. The entry way was easy enough to dispatch, and occassionally I healed or held them in place as my small group removed their ability to live. Then we got to the dominatrix. She was a mean one, utilizing water to her advantage. Once we realized what we were up against, we formulated our plans and proceeded to clean out the floating islands. We noticed, however, that after removing the head of this abomination, a faint orb was left behind. Each of them did.

As we had finished, we walked past a larger gate, that had each of the elements listed on it. Sleeka had an idea and placed the orbs together in a small altar, and LO! We were taken to a larger temple. A neat magic fountain stood in the middle. Sparkly air seemed to flow upwards through a shaft, and my hand revealed it was warm, and being me, I went ahead and jumped in to the stream. It lifted me up and soon I was soaring out of the chimney. The others followed and we were met with a surprise.

An angry …thing… half man, half something else. It was an hard fight nearly killing Sleeka. I was lucky to get some spells off in time to keep her (she is a paladin) alive.

We finished the fight, but we were exhausted. Luckily, the infestation tapered out after that spirit was removed. The Raki thanked us.

Then I finished my drink at the bar.

Day 5: Hung over

Dear Diary,

*Puke*

Today I celebrated being me.  I’m not vain or anything, just thought it’d be nice to show myself someone cared.  At the local tavern, several men showed me they cared as well.  Who they are, and where they are now, no clue.  And no, I didn’t do anything racy with anyone else.  I was able to pull myself together enough to cast a port spell.  That reminds me, where am I?

I hate being hung over.  My eyes are splitting in two, and my head can’t stop shaking…or is it the other way around…anyway.. besides the point – It’s a great day except for the bright sun, clear blue sky, and damned birds that won’t quit getting their chirp on!

Ugh, time to make today worthwhile…*puke*

Day 4: Crafting…no, really.

So I’ve learned to sew, in a way. If you read Day 3 of my diary, you’ll remember my hats were really square pieces of cloth with no place to put your head. Over the last few evenings, between getting drunk, bitten by snakes, and the crafting table, I’ve become pretty comfortable at making things for the commission. Unfortunately, I wanted to make a bag. I know, I know, it’s another 3 sides sewn together, one side open. I guess it’s that fourth side that throws me. I tried several times to remember to keep that last side open, I just seem to forget. Perhaps I’m air-headed.

On a side note, I have managed to achieve my 10th rank in Druid training. That’s wonderful news, because I can now port my friends (what friends?) to a city if we’re in trouble. Just make sure if you’re ever with me, I have a few seconds before we’re all dead. Couple that with the pressure, and the fact I don’t do well under pressure, or under anyone for that matter, but that’s another story – still, it’s exciting, isn’t it? I mean, me.. actually learning stuff?

While adventuring, I met two very nice creatures. One was a snake, and the other, a leopard who they call Spotted Tranquility. I etched some pictures, and will apply them to the pages soon. I just have to find some ink. Perhaps I’ll start taking pictures of mysterious and famous creatures while I travel? Seems like a worth while thing. Maybe I’ll even let others use these pictures to mail to their friends.. like, little cards. They’ll be postmarked cards..hmm, post-cards.. Yes! That’s IT! I’ll call them POSTCARDS!Big Pretty Kitty

I have set a price on the head of the Imperial Poacher. Feel free to kill him; last place I saw him was south of the Shrines near Caial.

It looks like it’s going to be another marvelous day! The wind is silky smooth, and my hair looks great in the shine! For once, that moss shampoo is paying off. Now to get those “magic beans” to grow, and I’ll be rich!!

Day 3: Crafting

I’ve learned to sew, kind of.  I have learned which plants hold materials, and which animals leave behind good skins when they’ve died.  I have decided I will NOT kill innocent animals just for their skin.  Instead, I wait for say, the giant lizards to try to eat me or various body parts.  My sewing ability itself is lacking.  I can make a hat, but it’s hard to tell it’s a hat, AND, it doesn’t fit on the head because there’s no opening, so really, it’s a square fabric that sits on your head and gets blown off at the slightest bit of wind.

I also spent a great deal of time chatting with the various soldiers today.  I think I’m getting better at parley <smiles>  I hear there’s a horse to be had from doing tasks for a guy, so that’s my new plan.

 Until later, be safe.

Day 2: To Caial Brael

I traveled to the city of Caial Brael today.  Someone of unimportance requested I deliver some poison to some hoity toity type in town, and since I was bored of the little suburb I called home, I thought “sure, what a way to get out and see some new places.”  Along the way, I worked on my parley skills with many strangers.  Some were really good at debate, others, well.. let’s just say, if I trumped their arguments, they weren’t too bright.

A major storm came through today.  The powerful trees even bowed to the wind’s gusts.  It amazes me that something of invisible force can actually bring solid objects to their bases.  With the wind came intense lightening.  I studied it as I glomped on to my destination, and it wasn’t long before I was able to duplicate (on a much smaller scale) the power of the spark.

Turns out the dryads are much more to deal with than originally thought.  Mr. High and Mighty told me to deal with them, so I did.  It gave me an opportunity to test my new spells, one of which calls the roots from trees themselves to help me.  Along with that, I made a small stone man of random pebbles, and brought him to life with my own sparks.  He doesn’t think much, but tries hard on hurting things that would hurt me.  I think I’ll call him Pebbles.

Did you know the Glade of the Lost (a place where misinformed spirits reside) has an underground temple?  I sure didn’t!  I went to help clarify their misconceptions of life and explored.  I found a tiara, which was pretty, silver, glittery..all the things a girl could want; only, it wasn’t mine to keep.  <Frowns> Some one  else had lost it, so I …”gladly” returned it to him.  Family Heirloom, bah!

After having some rousing debates and discussion,  I was told I might be able to help some captains along the coast in Tawar Galan.   The captains argued over some reward being handed out, but really, since they were both going to get it, I simply pointed out to the most stubborn, who refused to see reason for almost 45 minutes, that he was just as good as the other captain, and the prize still meant something.  Along the way to the coast, I found some soldiers who were having doubts about continuing their service to the lands.  With a little coaxing, however, I riled their spirits and they continued to fight for their commander.

Overall, things went well today.  I gave the Chief Mudwitch of the dryads some special fertilizer, but I don’t think she liked it.  She’s dead now, so I’ll have to make sure to tell the guy who gave that to me to give to her that it didn’t work.  Although, this does buy us a reprieve from the dryads trying to kill us <shrug>. Silver lining and all.

There are some amazing lizards north of Caial Brael.  Quite large, some small, and they love to fish.  They store their fish in baskets, but oddly enough, I fail to see where they got the baskets from to begin with.  They don’t have opposable thumbs!  Some of the bigger lizards made certain that I felt unwelcome in their makeshift camp.  Though I did find a nice vest, club, and chest plate for a mail wearer, should I meet one.

It’s time to rest now, as it’s late in the evening, and the morning waits for no one!

Day 1: Waking up.

The trees are beautiful but I woke up in the morning listening to the sound of the day I’ll looking for something to play with prescient way auburn hair quickly as possible and making sure that by purple eyes where clear I set off for my first day alone. They finished school two weeks ago. It was a brisk morning so I gathered my close at the bent staff that they gave me at the end of school. My first task was actually just to get some water for a guy who thought that we were being poisoned turns out he was correct, the dryads at decided to our race of people were just not good enough for them. It was a good warm up after that may help some puppies puppies that were lost to the spirit world although one of them came back to bite me not too pleased with that one but he makes great slippers and a bit chilly and made my way to a giant tree city where I learned the delicate art of discussion er uh.. parley. I did find a nice robe from one of the vendors. It’s all blue with a white stripe down the center although I don’t think I’m a robe person. I did have to mount an investigatory attack on the dryads whose own city was asked to our tree town. And did you know that graces the ex-girlfriend turned four students to stone? Evidently they wanted it so that braces could not have bird handlers.

Today I think I’ll try to find some friends it’s a little lonely out there but being a druid I guess I’m kind of used to it.
